Hang in There

Doing fine, following the Paleo Plan. Yesterday, my fasting blood sugar was 226 and this morning it was 209. Very promising start.

Day 1

Today starts my journey. I began the day by braving the scale. It hurt, really hurt. At 214, I am at my highest weight. Now that wouldn't be too bad if I were 7 feet tall, but I am not. I am only 4' 11 1/2". Yes, that half inch counts. Anyway, that puts me at a BMI of 42.5. My fasting blood sugar was 236 and my A1c is 7.6.

 

 

To help me lose weight, I have decided to follow a Paleo Plan.

 

 

I began this morning with an egg scramble with turkey, mushrooms, green onions, and tomatoes. Added a small side of grapes. Lunch was hamburger patties with mushrooms. Dinner was chicken breast and broccoli.

 

Made it through day 1, excited for day 2.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 54th Birthday.

Here is my drug of choice, Birthday Cake.

 

 
Today I am enjoying the celebration. Tomorrow I begin my journey to get healthier.

 

To say I am out of shape is so understating it. I am overweight (200+), have diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, and post menopausal.
Beginning tomorrow, I will take charge.

I will monitor my blood pressure
I will exercise
